Mark Marks was born in Gassaway, West Virginia. After graduating from Normantown High School, he moved to Orchard Beach, Maryland. Mark was mentored, for a while, by Vincent Burns, the former Poet Laureate of Maryland; but has, through the years, developed his own style of writing. His books include, For Freedom’s Sake, The Orchard’s Fruit, Left of Center, Bright Marble and Cheek-kisses. Some of his poems have achieved national recognition.
